Vergennes, Vermont: Vermont’s oldest and smallest city is centrally located between Lake Champlain, the Green Mountains, and the City of Burlington. Visit the local shops before heading to the Maritime Museum. 

Lake Champlain Maritime Museum: Vergennes, VT. 802.475.2022. The waterfront campus has over a dozen buildings with collections that reflect the maritime heritage of the Champlain Valley. The replica of the Philadelphia, Benedict Arnold's Revolutionary War Ship cannot be missed!

 

Shelburne, Vermont: nestled on the shores of Lake Champlain – just seven miles south of Burlington, Vermont’s largest city. 

Shelburne Farms: Shelburne, VT. 802.985.8686. William Seward and Lila Vanderbilt Webb consolidated 32 farms into a 3,800-acre agricultural estate. The home campus is a 1,400-acre working farm and National Historic Landmark. They have an extensive calendar of events. Simply magnificent!

Vermont Teddy Bear: Shelburne, VT. 800.829.BEAR. If you still have time; take the factory tour – a wonderful way to spend an hour and fifteen minutes! Watch the craftspeople making each bear by hand, one-by-one.

The Ethan Allen Homestead Museum: Burlington, VT. 802.865.4556. Ethan Allen is best known for the capture of Fort Ticonderoga at the outbreak of the Revolutionary War and his leadership of the Green Mountain Boys. Inside the home reveals the skills required to survive on the Vermont frontier. 


University of Vermont: Burlington, VT. Founded in 1791 is the fifth oldest university in New England (after Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth and Brown).
